Revisiting sustainable energy

Our journey into analyzing innovation trends in the energy and electrical sector began in 2022 with the groundbreaking report titled, A study of energy in transition: The role of research and innovation in the world’s shift to sustainable energy sources. Geographical concentration of innovators

Within the report, we analyze the geographical concentration of leading innovators within this segment, examining not just the top 20 but all organizations within this sector who sit in the Top 1,000 global innovators.

This reveals interesting geographical variations in the number of organizations in the segment:

Japanese organizations play a vital role as partners and high-tech power engineering suppliers worldwide.
Mainland China, while a major accelerating source of innovation, represents only 1% of the organizations in the segment’s Top 1,000.
In contrast, the data indicates a particular concentration of innovation excellence and focus within Europe’s energy and electrical sectors.
